Sweet, sweet summer!

We have had a full, busy, fun summer so far, but I have let my blogging go by the wayside. Sad day. However, I am going to try to be a better blogger. We will see how that goes.

This has been the summer full of weddings. I think we were invited to six weddings in the month of July alone. Obviously I was not able to attend them all, but the ones I was able to attend were so beautiful. Going to weddings by yourself is not that fun though and really made me miss GB. On top of weddings we have snuck a few trips in. The lastest and greatest was DISNEYLAND!!

Here is tip. Don't go to Disneyland in the middle of summer. It is crowded and hot. The best thing we did was to get to the park at opening and get in as many rides as possible in the morning before the sun hit scorching levels and before the crowds become beyond obnoxious. I am really impressed that we were able to get 5 adults and an almost 11 month old ready and in the park before it actually opened. It was a spur of the moment trip. Even though it was fairly crowded and very warm, we had a great time. We made some amazing memories including me walking in the park and starting to cry hysterically. I was all the sudden overcome with guilt because GB couldn't be there and was missing out on Max's first trip. I looked like an idiot, but don't you worry, it wasn't the only time I cried in the park. I am a hot mess sometimes. Max was a little unsure about the rides at first, but was really starting to enjoy them by the end. His favorite part of the whole trip was the parade! He giggled and clapped and watched in amazement! Here is a glimpse into our trek into the happiest place on Earth!
He rocked the ears almost the entire time we were there.
So much to point at in Disneyland!

Mad Hatter Tea Party! <3

Meeting Minnie!!
We are looking forward to returning in the future when we are all together and when Max will enjoy the rides and have a little better understanding about what is going on.

Prayers Needed.

So one of my sweet friends found out this week that her daughter has to have a complete bone marrow transplant. Kate is not even 10 months old yet. Kate's parents are asking for their family to be added to anyone's prayers, prayer chains, etc. Pray for Kate to find a match and for their family to come through this happy and healthy. If you want to find out more information feel free to click on the button on the side of my blog to follow Kate's journey. She is such a sweetheart so the pictures alone are worth it!

Growing like a weed.

I have been a terrible blogger lately. So before I start, please forgive me! My goal is to try to be better in the month of June. We will see how well I do with that.

On to bigger and better things, Max is quickly approaching 9 months. He seems to be thriving after our move home with my parents. He is loving all the attention of living with Grandma and Gramps as well as Auntie and Uncle - since college is out for the summer. I have not a doubt in my mind that moving home was the best decision for our family while GB is away. Max has so much stimulation and love that he could never have gotten from just me.

Some of the new things that have happened in our life recently is Max's first ear infection on top of teething. It was not easy, but for all the pain he was in, he handled it like a trooper. And there is light at the end of the tunnel because it is the proud owner of four, yes four, new teeth. Also he has started standing for longer and longer periods of time. He is a bundle of energy and is constantly on the move.
Here is the little man standing. It is not the best picture, but I had to snap it in a hurry. I was so excited to catch it on camera at all. Way to go Max!
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I want to say thanks to all the service members out there - both past and present - as well to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Thank you.

Pictures.

Manly men.

His uncle just may be his favorite person in the whole world.

I make my glasses look good.

But I don't like them....

Get them off of me, RIGHT NOW!

Happy wagon boy.

 Just swinging in the sun.

What a glorious feeling!

Enjoying outside!

I am seriously sick of unpacking and organizing my life. So sick of it. I still am not done yet and I have almost been here for a week. I need to get with it. Max and I have taken a few breaks and gotten to enjoy the outside.
Taking my aunt's old car for a spin! Don't worry she was right there!
The view from a walk behind our house!
Breaking in the new stroller!
Enjoying the swing especially beacuse the dogs were close by!

All that is boy!

The past few days I have decided that my baby is really starting to look like a little boy. I love to dress him in "big boy clothes" but it is now more than just the clothes.

He is very rough and tumble as well. His favorite toys are anything he can bang against either each other or the floor to make noise. One of my good friends told me I am going to be investing in a lot of toy hammers. He loves the dogs and being outside. I am getting more than a little nervous about this summer. Max has started to HATE being held down, but being outside = putting things in his mouth that should not be there - think rocks, sticks, etc.

We have been adjusting to life in Idaho the past few days. It is so nice to be surrounded by friends, family, and the most beautiful scenery in the US. :) However, I really am missing the comraderie of my other Army wives. I have decided that one of my goals for this next little part of my life is to not let my friendships falter due to distance. (Not that that has anything to do with "All that is boy" but it is my blog so I can ramble if I want).

Sunshine. That is right, folks. We finally have sun!

The sun has finally found Alaska again. I am writing this at 10:15 and it is just now twilight so when I mean sun I am talking 16 hours of straight sunlight. It helps bring a little happiness into my life. We have been trying to enjoy it a little even though we have had so many other kinds of crazy going on in our life.

So without further ado the evidence to our nice weather - remember this is relative... it got up to almost 60 degrees today and I was beyond estatic.

Before Daddy left they enjoyed a little jog through the yard with Max riding on his shoulders. I don't know who was laughing harder.

We were both exhausted after doing the 5K for Autism Awareness! So much fun to get out and walk with some of my favorite ladies! And two of the cutest boys in Alaska!
Once life settles down a little more I promise to be a better blogger! I hope that Easter was great for everyone. I had a little bit of a hard time, because it made me lonely, but having one holiday down means one holiday closer to having our family reunited!
