Things I am going to miss when I go back to AK...

  1. My parents taking all the night shifts so I get some sleep! They are the best!
  2. Drinking wine in the hot tub.
  3. Seeing GB all day long.
  4. Walking down the street and seeing people I have known my whole life.
  5. Being in positive temperatures.
  6. Watching the news with the parents every morning.
It is the simple things in life!

I hope everyone has a fabulous and safe New Years Eve and I promise to give an update of our trip soon!

More to come...

I didn't have internet last week because we were staying with the inlaws. I promise an update of all our travels and Christmas soon!

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!

Holy Freezing!

Well below freezing actually. A lot below freezing. Try -50 degrees F tonight. It is very hard to keep a 3 month old warm in this kind of weather. Max is not really a fan of all of the bundling, but he would be even less of a fan of frostbite. Here he is in the second layer of all the bundling.
Stay warm out there and I will leave you with a picture of a very grumpy boy who is going through a growth spurt. Not a fun week in our house.

Random Tuesday Ramblings...

Here are some random thoughts from my day:
  • If people looked through our windows during the day, they would probably think I am crazy. I am constantly dancing and singing to hear Baby B's sweet giggle and to see his adorable smile. I am sure I look ridiculous.
  • GB is starting to pack his stuff up to leave for Afghanistan and it breaks my heart to think I have to go a year without seeing him.
  • It is freezing here. Right now it is -29 degrees F and tomorrow's "high" is supposed to be -30. Awesome. Not.
  • A glass of red wine seems to make a crappy day seem better. I wasn't going to have one, but letting the rest of the bottle go bad would be unAmerican so here I sit with one in my hand.
  • It has been almost a year since I have had a drink in a bar. Wow. How things have changed in a year?
  • I can't believe that there are only 11 days until Christmas.
  • White Christmas is probably the best Christmas movie of all time and if you disagree then I will probably have to fight you (this means you GB).
  • I am more than a little worried about what two weeks of traveling will do for my 3.5 month's disposition. He has already refused to sleep the past 2 weeks. Please wish us luck in our upcoming travels.
  • GB just blinded me with his flashlight. Jerk.
  • The person who invented the binky/paci/whatever you want to call it is a savior. And the person who thought to make Mac and Cheese noodles into shapes was probably pretty smart as well.
Wishing you a fantastic Wendnesday!

Look at those cheeks!

Over the weekend...

Friday night was G B's company Christmas party! We had lots of fun and Baby B had his first experience with "Santa".

On Saturday we did some awesome things like clean our house and go shopping. Saturday night however we made our Christmas cookies. GB did not like to use the cookie cutters. He cut out like two and was done. He then got out a knife and designed his own. Some of his designs included a stryker (what an Army nerd) and Baby B's name. I thought things weren't looking good for our marriage when he made me turn off one of my favorite movies of all time, White Christmas, but things ended up ok when we watched Harry Potter #6 while baking. The cookies turned out kinda crappy, but we had fun.
Our cookie creations. Can you pick out which ones I made and the ones that GB made?
This is how Baby B spent the cookie making adventure.

On Sunday we slept in because lovely baby boy decided he didn't want to go to sleep until 1 am and then woke up at 3:30, 5:30.... You get the picture. Needless to say I was one tired and cranky Momma. The highlight of the day was an exciting White Elephant exchange. We left our house with a machete (GB's idea) and a back massager and returned home with a mini air hockey set and a bag full of Christmas wrapping supplies. Baby B was a bundle of energy as you can tell by this picture. He is sure cute when he sleeps though!

First timer...

Well hello everybody! I am going to join the crowd and start a blog. Feel free to follow and learn about life in the B household. It should be a wild and crazy ride full of spit up, laughter, dirty diapers, and lots of fun! And because all blog posts are better with pictures....

Baby B is getting excited for his first Christmas!
